Thanks Bengt,
I did that, and the tweaks that Tom suggested, and all is well now :)

Hi Ross,
start with your lathe profile, go into ports and pins in config.
set axis X and Z disable Y - copy your Y settings to Z SAVE
Restart Mach3 and you should be OK, are you using the lathe 1024.lset screen? Cheers Bengt

I have the lathe controls all working correctly but I have a bit of a problem with Mach3 coming up with Dynomotion Status - Z axis disabled.
I must admit that when I first started Mach3, for this machine, I created a profile and I was sure that was a turning profile but I got a mill screen up and, as we were only looking to see if the DROs worked, at that stage, I left it that way for the trial.
The DROs worked perfectly on the X and Y axes, with the Y axes reacting to the Z input.

I changed the profile to a MachTurn and now Mach3 tells me that the Z axis is disabled, although it is working okay.
The DROs still seem to be reading as the had in the milling interface, with the X axis DRO reading the Z axis handwheel movement.
I can get no readout on the X axis DRO although both axes are responding to their handwheel encoders correctly.

Z is Channel 0 and X is Channel 1 and they work correctly in KMotion.

Is it possible that there is a Mach3 file that has remembered the original mill format and just carried it over to the turning profile?
If I delete both mill and turn xml files will they regenerate?

Hi Ross,

Besides that make sure your Coordinate System in KFlop is set up as X=Axis1, Y=unused, Z=Axis0, A=unused with

 DefineCoordSystem(1,-1,0,-1);
